Join us for Evansville's longest street sale! Main Street will be lined with 100+ shops, makers, vendors, residents, and community members selling their items. Come ready to shop and find great bargains. After searching for deals, visit our restaurants and shops for lunch or brunch, coffee or adult beverages, fine art, and fun gift items.

Participant Information:
Downtown businesses, residents, makers, and vendors are invited to sign up to participate in our annual Sidewalk Sale. The event takes place outdoors along Main Street. This event is open to all types of vendors and individuals who make or sell their own items. Participants who have paid their entry fee will be notified by Thursday, May 9 as to the location of their booth space. The EID must approve all participants and has the final discretion on who will be able to sell items at the sale.

Payment:
The cost is $30.00 for a 10' x 10' space. Payment is due by Friday, April 26. Please make your check payable to: Downtown Evansville EID.

You can also pay with cash. The payment is due by Friday, April 26. Vendors will NOT receive their booth assignment until payment has been received. We also accept debit/credit but there is an additional $5.00 charge.

The EID is organizing and promoting the event, but participants collect and keep 100% of their profits.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Is there a cost to participate?
Yes, there is a fee of $30.00 for an assigned 10' x 10' space along Main Street. If you have paid your entry fee you will be notified by Thursday, May 9 with your booth location. If you live or own a business within the EID boundaries there is no cost to participate. Please note, vendor fees are used to help advertise and promote the event and no refunds will be issued for cancellations.

Where will the Sidewalk Sale take place?
Along Main Street from 2nd to 6th Street.

When can I begin setting up?

Participants may begin setting up as early as 7:30 AM on May 11. The sale begins at 9 AM.


Where do I park?

There are MANY FREE parking options available.
Street parking is not monitored on weekends, so the posted time limits will not be enforced.
 
Thank you to the Evansville-Vanderburgh County Building Authority for allowing FREE parking in the City of Evansville parking garage at Locust & 3rd from 8 AM - 4 PM.

The map below identifies the FREE street parking and FREE parking garage options.

There is no specific vendor parking area. Vendors are recommended to unload their items at their assigned location along Main Street and then park at a convenient space nearby. There are over 7,000 public and private parking spaces in Downtown Evansville (aka there are plenty of places to park).

Do I need to provide my own tables and chairs?
Yes, each participant is required to bring their own tables, chairs, and any other items needed for their display.

Am I allowed to bring a tent?
Yes, vendors are welcome to bring a tent for their display but please remember to bring weights for the legs to keep your tent in place. 

Electricity? Generators?

Electric will not be provided and generators are prohibited.

Will bank ATMs be open during the event?
Yes, banks throughout Downtown have ATMs that will be accessible during the event. For a complete list of ATMs please click ATM Locations on the Visitors tab of our website.

Will food be available for purchase?
Yes. In addition to our Downtown restaurants there will be food available for purchase from local food trucks.

Will there be public restrooms available?
Yes, portable restrooms and a handwashing station will be located at Fourth & Main.


Will the event be rescheduled in the event of rain or inclement weather?
We host 12 large events annually and they are all rain or shine events. The Sidewalk Sale will NOT be rescheduled.
